Gnomon - time to move on

It was very windy last night. Felt like a gale but not a storm. The wind snapped the top off my umbrella as I was walking home. I had to walk in the driving rain.

During the night it took one pane out of the greenhouse and damaged the door. I'll spend the morning fixing that. Luckily there are very few plants in the greenhouse at the moment. The door just needs to be removed and put back on. And I've a spare pane if I can't find the other one.

I'm sure the greenhouse did not suffer, though, as the incident was paneless.

Three gaffers out walking:

"Windy today, isn't it?"
"No, it's Thursday!"
"Me too, let's have a drink!"

I saw a report that on the really windy night, a 52-foot wave was spotted hitting the coast of Donegal. That's 16 metres. As high as four double-decker buses, according to the report.

Do double-decker buses normally stack on top of each other? smiley - winkeye

Yes, but they only stack in threes.

I will keep that in mind the next time I'm on the 14th floor of a building in Hong Kong. smiley - winkeye
