Gnomon - time to move on Started conversation Oct 11, 2007
Wednesday is my day off work. Yesterday was no exception. I rarely get a lie in:
Up at 7:00.
Breakfast
Dropped Mrs G to a point close to the tram, shortening her journey
Walked to Dundrum and saw the Dentist. After him cleaning my teeth I feel like I've been beaten up.
Went to Starbucks, drank coffee and did Su Doku to give my mouth a chance to recover.
Walked home and posted a few comments on h2g2.
Put the guinea pigs out on the lawn.
Struggled with an old chest freezer; eventually got it into the boot of my car and drove it to the recycling centre where they will decommission it. Threw out an old television while I was at it.
Drove to Azara's where I had more coffee.
Dug out her flower bed (my birthday present to her) and put in six natural-looking slabs to make a stepping stones path across the flower bed, allowing her to get to the furthest parts of it.
Late Lunch (15:45) in Avoca Handweavers, a spinach pie with salads, followed by a fruit tart and coffee.
Home.
Collected Mrs G from tram.
Brought the guinea pigs into the kitchen; they live in a little box in the corner but can wander around at will.
Dropped El to the tram with her cello for her evening lesson. Shopping with Iz for groceries.
Home, unpacked groceries.
Collected El from tram after her cello class.
While I was doing this, my father arrived (Daddy G?) to see me.
Went over to the chipper and got chips for the girls (I didn't need food after the massive lunch, and Mrs G was out with her friends).
Sat and drank wine with my father until he left around 10.
Talked on h2g2 until late.
Put guinea pigs out in the shed, their night-time accommodation.
Made lunch-boxes for the girls for Thursday, and tidied the kitchen.
In bed relatively early, at 12:30.

I'm not really here Posted Oct 11, 2007
Sounds like my Wednesday! J had a day off from school, so we walked the dogs, did lots of shopping, visited the library, went to the local farm shop, etc. But at least I did get a lie in - I got up at 8am instead of 7am.

Hang on a minute...it does look like quite a list, but there's a reasonable anmount of drinking coffee, lunching and drinking wine in there.

Mr High Achiever is also capable of relaxation.
Thanks for reminding us to put on our Hallowe'en disguises.

I wish I had had you as a husband!!
Instead of 100%
I give you a 1000%.!!
But then I am sure that Mrs. G. spoils you as well!!.
Incidentally how is El getting on with her cello.
I can remember the first melody I heard played on the cello. I was twelve and it was was "The Swan" - by Saint Saens - played by a divinely handsome young man with whom I felll instantly in love!. I thought it was out of this world!!.
Are you going to to the coast this year?Or are you off to a wonderful holiday in Grece , Corsica or Veni e?
K. and I are going to live at the coast - which is a wonderful thing because then I shall be able to breathe so much more easily. Hoorah!
Gtreetings to your lovely family
!

We're going to New York in two weeks' time, and to San Francisco and Seattle next Easter. Other than that, we have nothing planned.

Have I missed a discussion on halloween disguises this year? Bit early yet isn't it?
I'm always worried if I add a tag or something someone will join and use Elentari, and then I won't be able to use it again. My own fault for nicking a name I guess.

Are are you getting to Nu Yawk? By sea or by air?
I love the huge big bustling city. Have been there three times. My baby brother lives in Port Washington. My eldest son has started a branch of his London business in the city. I hope that you will manage to get to a concert in the Carnegie Hall.
Have fun.
who looks after the guinea pigs during the absence.?
San Francisco you will love. I absolutely loved it. Those tram rides; that visit to Yosemite; that marvellous seafood at Fisherman's Wharf. We wentto Yosemite in winter and it was like fairyland. Dick and I saw our first little raccoon scurrying across the snow.
You are builiding up a treasure trove of memories for yourselves.
It is wonderful to be able to experience them and share them.
I have never been to all the lovely places that you have visited in the Med.
Greetings to all your family.
Christiane.

I remember a French woman saying to us "vous êtes les grands voyageurs". We'd been to far more places in France than she had. We'll be flying into New York and staying with Mrs G's cousin. We've never been to New York before, so we'll be looking at all the touristy things: the Statue of Liberty, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Chinatown and so on, as well as taking in the Pokémon Center.

If my sons were reading this, they'd be jealous. The Pokémon Center is the one place in the world they want to visit above all others.

Apparently there are some Pokémon that can only be collected by downloading them at the Pokémon Center.

So I've heard. Probably. I sometimes tune out after half an hour on the evolutionary properties of...Pokémons?...Pokémen?

On my first visit I had a visit to the United Nations. that was years ago when the cold War was still on.
As you are all musicians you would thoroughly enjoy a concert at Carnegie Hall. There is also the Guggenheim Art Museum which apparently starts up at the top and the walk wends its way slowly spirally downwards with the pictures hanging on the wall. My sister-in-law told me about it.
Have a wonderful time.
Vhristiane.
