Just thought I'd visit and say HI!
Now I'm here I notice that I've been to Lowestoff (or a better spelling approximation, possibly the more accurate one) but I can't remember why...

I can't remember why I came either - and I've been here for 17 years. It must have been one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time (sigh)...

Interestingly not only do I have no idea why I went I have no memory of what I did there as well...I think this could become one of those things that annoys me until I remember
Actually if you find it as dull as you say you could be the 'Most Easterly disinterested person' and make a fortune from tourists

I suspect there would be heavy competition for the title
Mediocrity in itself isn't always a bad thing - too much excitement is bad for you. Also I must admit that if I wanted excitement I wouldn't have come; peace and quiet seemed like a good idea to me at the time and to a large extent still does. But when doctors start prescribing anti-depressants for "the Lowestoft condition" (yes, really) you do get a little concerned about the direction that things are moving in. I will await entries in the Guide about other, similar out-of-the-way seaside resorts, with great anticipation, as I suspect that this town is not outstandingly dull in the greater order of things. When I used to run a penpals website, one of the topics was "Most Boring Places In The World" - and believe me Lowestoft doesn't come close!!!

I have a feeling that what may be called Borth in Wales is equally uninteresting as last time I went to the 'tourist village' it was a row of grey houses and a cafe...although it did have a beach which is always a plus point
I don't know if you've ever been to Lindisfarne but there is actually nothing there apart from a castle, a priory and a hotel but for some reason it's just relaxing rather than dull...never understood why but even when I was tiny I used to love going there.

Sorry, never been to either place, but you know, visiting a place and living in it are quite different. If you ever remember why you visited Lowestoft, let me know!
Cheers
Chris
