BB is cool. Problem is that he's used to people just slagging him off. I saw your post. Nice.

Have never quite understood TRiG, however - *waves to TRiG* who is a consummate lurker.

Putting forth all this Catholic stuff whilst maintaining they aren't Catholic in the slightest? Most confusing.

Yes I've noticed that. I've decided to try and ignore him until I'm clearer about where he's really coming from. Otherwise it makes genuine debate and discussion really difficult.

But don't don't hold me to that, I'm only human. smiley - winkeye

Yes I've been away for a long while! Very busy in RL and then then off line for sometime. It's extremely weird to return here and have a look around certain convos involving people I used to get so het up about and find so little has changed!! smiley - smiley

Itsn't h2g2 a weird place? smiley - biggrin

How are you az?

What a nice surprise, Fanny. I trust things are going okay in RL?

Yes, sometimes taking a break does help with perspective. Could be a time thing too - I sure don't get as het up about certain people's comments as I did a couple of years ago.

Things here are fine. Nog and I are 'on holiday' this month, basically because all our students are away. It's a stay at home holiday for us though, but it's been very nice just to hang out and do whatever we feel like. I've been going to the gym every day (well, Mon-Fri) which I'm quite enjoying. And it's a nice treat to have evenings free (I usually work between 9-12 and 5-9pm) to just walk around, do a bit of shopping, stop for a cold beer and a tapa.

Speaking of tapas, have you seen my new tapas blog? It's basically an expansion of the tapas page on 'casa az' which I'm eventually going to use as a 'portfolio' (once it's been polished a bit) and see if I can get some advertising for it. You never know...already if you google 'sevilla tapas' it comes up on page 2.

Are you still raising snails?

Planning on sticking around for awhile?

Hi az

I'm not sure whether to come back here more regularly or not. Shall check out your tapas at some point.

I'm a little sick of eating my snails to be honest. You may know we have had the wettest summer here on record and the varmints are taking over my garden. So much veg has been eaten by them. I've stopped using snail pellets as a control because apparently it poisons bird life, not to mention humans.....

I must say I'm enjoying cooking in general more and more. Am planning to make a classic French style fish soup this week for a visit of my parents. smiley - yikes

Speak soon!

I did think the 'free media co-ordination pack' was pretty funny, in a very black way.

Well, hell, somebody's gotta say this shit.

Anyhow, how are you?

Fanny, you seem to be being inexplicably rude to my friend guspemar. I wish you would stop it. Please do not post anything more on that thread about London hotels.

That was his first thread and he doesn't speak English all that well.

It comes across to him as if people are making fun of him.

I'm sorry now I ever got him to start an account here.

Sorry that was a genuine complete mistake about the rugby. Very silly of me I know but genuine. I don't think I'm the first person to accidently post on the wrong thread by mistake.

I'm quite surprised that you would think I'd do that deliberately.

I would never dream of making fun of someone like that.

I'm exteremly surprised that you would interpret what happened in that way!

It wasn't just that, Fanny. It was the previous comments about cheap places being on park benches ... for heaven's sake, the guy doesn't speak English all that well and that came across as rather rude and dismissive. You should have known better ... at least I would have hoped so.

I was so sorry I started that thread for him - people were generally not helpful and then went out of their way to be 'clever'.

I'm sorry if it came across that like az. Please give him my email address az and I will do alll I can do to help him have a fun and interesting time in London.

No, he's booked his hotel and that's all he wanted to know about. He does actually visit London quite frequently. It wasn't just you, but I thought the whole tone on that thread was all about mouthing off about this and that and not paying any attention at all to a new person asking for some basic information.

I don't think he'll be back.

az
