Hello Proteus...
Proteus Posted Aug 31, 2000
Well thank you very much!
Do all newcomers get this 'howdie' from the ACEs? If so I'm impressed. It's allways fun to get a personal 'hello' rather than a machine answer - or am I fooling my self here?
I was tipped of by I friend about this site. As I am a fan of Douglas Adams and his work it was fun to jump over here and se what it was. And it is a curios place. What I miss though is a bit of more humour. But it's not a big concern of mine. I understand that the plan is to make this site something out of the ordinary. If you succeed I can not say at this moment.
So far I have engaged in your new enviromental forum and made some serious entries.
So from the Sweden I greet you all and will try to contribute to the whole of this strange place .
I too got to work a little now.
Later...

We try and reach as many of the new peeps as possible Though it can be hard And it is a personal greeting, an actual real life personal greeting As for the humour, it is there, but this is not a DNA (Douglas Adams) book, it is The Guide, with many different authors. Truth and fact are more important than humour, but many entries have both So, how long have you lived in Sweden?

Oh...I have been a busy bee since last entry. I found a religion forum in which I have made some serious contributions - I hope :/
I'm glad it is a human respons. In this day and age it is nice to see. And since my statement calling for more humour, I have found it in various forums. So I now retract me missing it.
Hahaha! "..how long have you lived in Sweden..." :=)
Either you are very funny or actually serious in this question. I hope I do not offend you by saying so. If you are funny - it worked! Me like humour!
If, on the other hand, you are actually making a serious question the answer must be:
All my life. I am born, raised and breathing swede - soul and heart. Well...this and connected to the net :=O (which makes me a citizen of Earth for a while).
Since the last time I have hade great time writing long and hopefully enjoyable (and thoughtful?) entries. And this by only touching two subjects of choice: Religion & Enviroment.
The size of this place in pure information is very daunting - to say the least. I wish I hade a high capasity optical connection with flat rate, at home. At present I'm using the company computer which is ISDN but still painfully slow. ;=(
Oh man how I ramble on, and on, and on...... :=)
Time to go home!
CeeU'!

Hi Triv!
Wow!
One ACE and one guardian angel. A regular sky heaven this place
Ironic that you choose GOD as I have posted several entries in a religious forum yesterday.
I just want to say that I'm feeling very comfortable. My only wish right now is a faster connection - this is dead slow (sitting at my work ISDN connection at the moment).
I'll check out both your spot on H2G2 as well as the URL you gave me, as soon as time allows for it. I'll have to work too,
Ciao!

If you're able to do this (have not checked out the 'search' facilities yet): search on my alias and you'll find several postings in two seperate subjects.
Otherwise keep an eye glued to my humble little spot and just maybe it will turn up something worth reading - who knows?
Well I do (at least I pretend to
Hasta la vista -baby!
I'll be BACK!

A wee question for you:
How does the storages routines work at H2G2?
How much is saved and for how long? With this I mean the discussions in the forums etc. Do you discard a discussion thread after a certain age (without active entries) or after as particular length - or what?

Crescent Posted Sep 7, 2000
Everything is stored, as far as I know. There are fora which have been going for ages, and are absolutely huge. Everything is just stored as text, so takes up little room, it is also one of the reasons that you cannot host pictures onsite. So everything is stored for ever Until later....

I'm just popping in to say my own personal and human intro - so
I'm me - okay, I'm a Guru and an Ace, but mainly I'm a me.
Although I must confess that if someone hasn't actually written much on their page, the personal intro seems very dull as we can't think of anything to say.
The more you say, the more we can say.
As Bob Hoskins says, it's good to talk.

And a big HELLO to you too
Unfortunately I do not have all the time I would want to write in all those many places on the net. I've installed Imperium Galactica 2 on my computer and have my hands full on space imperium building...for the moment anyhow.
