World peace is a fabulous birthday wish! I think it can happen if enough of us make it a priority in our lives on a daily basis.

So far I'm off to a great start on the year. Had a stellar dinner party in South Beach last night with a lovely group of friends, fine wines, perfect martinis, and divine Italian food. Today was a picnic in the park to celebrate another close friend's marriage. We had George Tandy (jazz pianist) and the Philharmonic tenors to entertain us, and I took along painting gear so we could all work together in creating a piece of art for the newlyweds. It's actually going to turn out well once I've finished polishing the edges.

I couldn't have asked for a better weekend to kick off being 42.

How've you been? Hope life has been treating you more kindly lately.

Health is good--the node biopsies came back negative, with any luck that was the end of cancer for the next few decades.

Now I'm back to focusing on being peaceful and productive. I have *got* to get that sorted.

Me? Trying to cope with the saddest period of my life while balancing it with thanks that we've had Dad this long..

I'm so sorry. That has got to be one of the most difficult balancing acts, the remembering all the good in the face of the heartbreak. I wish I had your courage in dealing with things, GB.
