Lovely to see you dropping by in the Coffee Time quiz. Have you been on h2g2 before, or are you just a natural h2g2-er?

I am new. My "My Space" page is not working yet. So I cannot do some things. Hopefully, a volunteer will be available to fix it within the near future.

I cannot see anything in or about your message that IDs you. Is that because my page isn't working correctly?

I am uncertain why I am a "natural" h2g2-er. However, I believe it is a compliment, so I turn my personal sun you-wards. Thanx.

If you click on my name (Vip), then that should take you to my Space. We have very recently moved on to a new system, so it is possible that there could be some problems. I'll take a quick peek tomorrow when I am back on my PC rather than my phone.

h2g2 is a lovely place but rather different to modern social media sites; some people fit right in but some prefer the faster pace and real-life connection of something like Facebook. Many of us prefer the anonymity we have here and value the online relationships we build gradually. We also like people who dive in and join in the spirit of things like quizzes!

And don't worry, this is a purely social call. I used to help out with welcoming new people to the site and although I have since retired I still like to pop over and say hi to people I don't recognise. We're a small community and I've been here a while so it's rare for mw to meet someone I don't recognise!

O! So your NAME is VIP. On some forums et. al., people are awarded grandiose titles based upon how many posts they make. But VIP is chutzpah, not an award. Good on you, VIP.

Ah yes, I can see how my name could be confusing! Back when I signed up I had no idea I would still be here twelve years later, so I just used the first joke name I could think of. Oh well! I tend to think of myself as 'Vip' (to rhyme with zip/sip) rather than V.I.P..

Oh, and don't worry about your Space - people choose how much information they put on there and some choose to put very little. You will be in good company.

Elektra, aka elektragheorgheni, does indeed live here - she's typing on her computer right now, about four feet from me - but she's not me.

She loses her accounts sometimes. Then she and lil try to find them.

It keeps them busy.
