About
My name is Judith Cooper and I plan to be a working screenwriter one day. Until then I pay the bills as a journalist and bring up my son as best I can with my lovely supportive husband who prefers not to read a single word I write- I used to be upset about this, now I figure it’s probably just as well for the sake of marital bliss.I particularly love writing about period/historical drama and my first spec screenplay was on the two sisters who led the suffragette movement, Christabel and Sylvia Pankhurst and how their joint fight to win women the vote cost them their own relationship. I'm now working on another called The Hellfire Club set in 1762. In March, 2013 my beloved Dad, Bill Sands, died. One of the last things he asked of me was to help him write his memoirs. It is a matter of some considerable regret to me that he died before we were able to complete it. He lived a fascinating life which spanned the last colonial days of Kenya before independence, the Australian Outback and the tropics of Fiji- never spending more than seven years in any one place and sometimes only a few months before moving on again (my poor mother who followed him with six children in tow!). I have decided to try and finish his memoirs for him. To help his scattered family around the globe help to remember him I started loading what I had already completed on my blog. http://himalayanepiphany.wordpress.com/2013/03/05/my-dad-and-his-life/
