Great that you came through your bad patch. You might want to check out the new improved 
as Dmitri Gheorgheni is the new editor and it is pretty good as a weekly fanzine and will report on the latest cary-on in h2g2. You can find the latest edition of it on the Front Page (which is on the Pliny skin) by clicking on The Post on the right hand side of the page. Not sure what skin you used when you were here last, but you can choose your skin by altering your preferences on the dashboard there in pliny. As far as writing anything for the Edited Guide or for the AWW you need to use a non Pliny editor so use the old threads.
