Sometimes I am about to ask a question here, but then discover the answer elsewhere, and so never need to Ask. However, it occurs to me that had the question been asked here, any number of other related or unrelated topics might have been touched upon, and that I might have missed out on all this by already knowing the answer.
My question was going to be "what is the temperature at which most homicides are supposed to occur?" Turns out it's 92 Fahrenheit, but there's no evidence it's true, according to Snopes.

Gene McCarthy referred to Jimmy Carter as "a third-generation Snopes."
The Snopes family was the literary creation of William Faulkner. I'm not sure not they became authorities on homicide.

Yes, why?
This question is basically about asking questions. I can't think a better place to discuss it than Askh2g2.
Please restore it to where the community can see it and respond to it.
And don't do it again.

"Please restore it to where the community can see it and respond to it." [Icy North]
I read that too quickly and thought it said, "Please restore it so the community can ignore it."

I can *almost* understand when they move conversations from Ask to misc Chat. But this appears to have been moved to Quotes' Message Centre. That makes no sense at all to me.

It's a control thing. They want us to know they can do it.

That's as it may be, but if there's obviously a reason for having this thread, it's not obvious enough for me to see. But then, I was also never able to understand why people wanted to turn on their TV sets and watch "The Kardashians" and "Duck Dynasty." Not that this thread is in any way like those shows. I'm just illustrating my occasional failure to perceive what others can see.
