I think so too I'd suggest going and posting for a day or two, making sure you log in and out a couple of times, and restart your computer a couple of times during that day or so. Once you've done that have a play at changing the settings around and see what happens.
Then if you want to transfer your other account we can do that
I'll be around, so just post here again if there are any problems.

Meant to say, I've never used Frames on h2 before and it's a revelation!

Yes, having the list of posters on the left is quite helpful.
It's easy to find a previous post by the name of the poster.
And having ~wings~ makes it very easy to spot my own posts
as I scan down the list and see where I last posted or refer
to an old posting to see what I might have actually said as
opposed to things I'm accused of saying.
The idea of this account becoming the new ~jwf~ is beginning
to appeal to me. That way, there's no risk of screwing up
eleven years of backlog by losing the wings there. On the
other hand I wouldn't be aware of anyone posting to that
old homepage... Oh wait~ Yes, the new ~jwf~ could subscribe
to the old one.
Oh the possibilities!
Getting excited about h2g2 again for the first time since
the Barlesque bomb hit. Much thanks to you.
And Bel of course for the welcome.

That's excellent ~jwf~, I feel good about the place too.
I honestly think you won't have any problems accessing your old account. AFAIK there's been no-one so far that hasn't been able to transfer and use their account. We have had a few bugs, so you could leave it another week or so until things get ironed out. I will ask the gurus if there's been anyone who's not been successful with an existing premove account.

kea,
I have had two invite emails for the return of ~jwf~.
One came to my gmail account over the weekend.
Another came this morning to my yahoo account which was
a huge surprise.
But then, thinking about it I remembered that I had the
yahoo account before the gmail and perhaps my original
BBC registration as ~jwf~ was using the yahoo.
It could even have been a long defunct 'eastlink.ca' addy
that I used when I signed up in Dec. 2000 That was my first
internet service provider but I have moved and lost that one
six years ago and been using various online email services
ever since.
I usually have communicated with Eds, mods and gurus via
gmail over the last few years so I wasn't surprised that the
first invite came there. I seldom use the Yahoo for serious
stuff but there may still be a link on my homepage (or a page
off of that) for contacting me off-site (which no one ever has).
I guess what I'm asking, is can you tell me which of the email
services I am registered as, before I try to transfer. No need
to post or reveal the full name addy, just which provider it is
so I can plug in the correct details.
It was the gmail account that we used when we had discussion
off-site with me mailing [email protected] and you replying. So
if you want to post a reply there rather than onsite I will keep
an eye out there as well. I do know my old password it's just a
question of which email I am registered with.
Once re-registered I can make the necessary changes in Settings.
Thanks. No rush. I plan to stay HtH until after Halloween.

My dad always says never tell tradespeople that there's no hurry or you won't see them until after Christmas
Can you please email me at [email protected] with Attention Kea in the subject line? We can sort it out from there.

What you could do to not lose anything is to Add as a Friend your old accounts. This is what I did so I din't lose track of an old entry of mine in that old account. It should make it easier to reconnect with everyone on your old friends list as well.
Enjoy the new site.
