I'm afraid that in the 'Lifetime Suspension' thread you've made some remarks about me that are basically stuff and nonsense!

Firstly you say that 'Arpeggio' told me that my 'Intelligence' article was bigoted and that I refused to listen to her and wanted to do it my way.

Wrong! I only found out after I had left h2g2 that Arpeggio thought that there was bigotry in there. She said that behind my back in a completely different thread.

If she had pointed out to me in the 'Intelligence' thread where she thought the bigotry was and why, I would of course immediately changed the article to remove the bigotry. She never did.

You seem to think I was dismissing all the critisim and that when you gave your opinion about some problems with IQ tests I said that 'wasn't a problem'

Wrong! I was fully taking into account all the critisim, including yours, and I had made substantial changes in the article to talk about what you said (bias in the tests) See what other people say - Bright Bklue Shorts credits me with making all the changes people are asking for.

Now, you say that when I came back I made reamrks to the effect; 'I left knowing full well the trouble it would cause, I've been watching all along, isn't this fun!'

Utterly ridiculous! I never say anything remotely like that. I explained quite clearly why I left - un provoked personal attacks from Arpeggio and Barton. And all I said when I left was that 'I am dropping the topic'

You say ; 'I came back launching a string of personal attacks'

Yes, but these were in response to the abuse of Barton and Arpeggio. Nearly every one agrees that I had every right to tell my side of the story.

I think you need to refresh your memory on the dozens and dozens of examples of un prokoved personal attacks on me from Arpeggio in the 'intelligence' thread in many other threads - all of them extremely vicious! If some one attacks me I have every right to attack them back.

Finally you seem to be saying that there was some sort of conspiracy against Arpeggio and that some people were 'out to get her'

Crap. For myself I only ever hit a 'yikes' button once - that was when I left h2g2. That was the only time.

Arpeggio was banned cause she broke the house rules about a million times. Please don't talk about me in connection with things which have nothing to do with me, get our facts straight and stop acting like a bloody idiot!

as you deemed it necessary to start this on my page, I would request that we don't publicise it so we can have a sensible discussion about it.

right, now that is out of the way, i will try and answer some of your points in detail.

On the intelligence thread, up until the critique by bright blue shorts, I see nothing that you did that was not mainly in the spirit of peer review.

Having said that, you definately were dismissive of any criticism on the subject of the highly intelligent, despite the fact that you yourself claimed to know little about it.

On at least two occasions, you were downright rude in the way you dismissed it, which you later claim was meant as a joke.

If that is true, I definately don't share your sense of humour, and think that the content of those "jokes" is at least partially in conflict with your later claims to be a renaisance man.

most of the abuse leveled at the high intelligence people who responded to your request for peer review did not come from you, but at least some of it you have repeated elsewhere, so you must at least partially agree with it (else why repeat it?).

At least some of this abuse was triggered not by your leaving, but by the manner of your leaving, which again disagrees with your claim of enlightenment.

as regards the accusation that you resorted to personal abuse, the only place that I remember you being highly abusive is in the moderated post in your explanation of events, which you claim explained everything, but was a (very) thinly veiled attack on those characters.

The thing about you "enjoying the fun", while not explicitly stated by you, is definitly implicit in the same thread where you claim you waited for everything to calm down, and then you started the whole thing up again by trying to write a revisionist account of events which always painted you in the best possible light.

quite understandable, some people called you on that, and again you were mostly dismissive of their comments, again (if I remember rightly) putting these dismisals down to failed attempts at humour.

do I think you deliberately started the first flame war, almost certainly not, but your actions definately inflamed it considerably, and your actions in restarting it when you came back can least offensively, giving you the benefit of the doubt, only be described as foolish and blind in not forseeing the consequences.

Some of your comments in other threads do show that you are considerably intelligent, and I am hopefull that if you sit down and dispassionately review your actions,and where you got it wrong, have every chance of eventually becoming the renaisance man you profess to be, but you are not there yet.

Right, thanks for putting your views across in a calm, rational way. That's all any one asks for really.

As for 'discussing' the whole thing - I'd rather not - its all over and done with. I will try to take your comments on board though.

Nasty business with Arpeggio. But I really don't see that the actual ban had much to do with me - that was why I was a bit annoyed when you bought up the business with the 'intelligence' thread again.

and the reason the intelligence thread was brought up was that the behaviour of others after you left was instrimental in the bad practices that ended with the life suspension. I am trying to keep names out of it,and just mention inappropriate behaviours, but in some cases, others recognise themselves or others (correctly or not) and then start finger pointing.

If this causes you any problems, then I appoligise, but as you can imagine, it ishard to highlight the problems without some mention of the circumstances.

by the way, as the intelligence project is back up, how about dropping by at the project and claiming credit where it is due.
I would like to credit you where you deserve it, but finding who contributed what in the intelligence thread is proving very difficult.
