Hello Babel,
This might sound strange but I came across a message from you in a forum saying you're having trouble with the free BT Internet ISP.
This may mean the reason I can't use it now is because they've got a problem and not because of that lightning strike that fried my modem and was a nightmare to fix. Have you actually had a good service from it ever since you signed up? When I can connect it regularly disconnects and freezes up my PC but I thought it was just me......

I am currently on from work. Nightshift.
As for home, I haven't had a chance to try it over the last couple of nights.
The problem started about a week or so back. I tried logging on one evening and I got a 'cannot log on, check dial up networking', so i tried again, this time it came back with a 'no answer' tried again and it came back with yet another error.
I did manage to get in once this week at about 7pm. Then trying again later the same errors.
I have now rechecked all dial up network on my pc and will try logging in tomorrow. if I am successful, i will let you know. if not, I will be phoning BT to see what is going on. also will let you know the results. Unfortunately I won't be around much this weekend, so logging in here will probably not be an option, however will update on Monday at some point.
Is this the sort of thing you are getting?

I mostly get the message about Dial-Up-Networking not working, please check your id and password is correct. I haven't had a connection from it since last weekend and have had to revert to Freeserve where I'm still paying per minute for calls.
As it looks like it's not just my modem, I'll try and get through to BT too. Will post an update here if they say anything useful.

had a good night out and am now heading to bed, But!!!!!!
I couldn't get logged on via BT Free. kept getting Error 645 and Error 691, so I will be contacting BT on monday.
Can you go to my homepage and send me an email (click on the link). let me know where you are in the UK, so that I can say i am not alone.
I fthey give me some Bull, I will tell them that a friend is having the same problem, and maybe be able to quote your email address, if that's ok by you. Either way, I will check email and here on Monday before i call BT.
