Welcome back.
Babel17 Posted Oct 7, 2001
Actually, no I am back at work again. 3 days DAYSHIFT Sat/Sun.Mon, then off Tue/Wed and shoould be starting 4 nights NIGHTSHIFT as of Thursday, but only in for 1 cos I managed to get a cheap flight to Dublin for the weekend
I think he posted on Friday night, but it would appear that perhaps Mrs. Eats is now ready. Haven't checked my hotmail account today to see if there is a note from him. But no news is good news as they say.
I understand completely about the 'people thinking I'm lazy', you are a person after my own heart.
It takes years of practice to cultivate that particular knack
Hows your weekend progressing anyway?
Welcome back.

Weekend is going fine. Have done bugger all. Had a few beers last night, and few the night before. Been off work for a month now (still got those hurty ankles) and it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to get back for quite some time. Another month at least. This could go-on for a lot longer though. Other than the odd stiff day (ooer!), I'm getting on fine. I always thought the Protestant work ethic was a fine thing. For Protestants.
Welcome back.

At least another month or longer? Gosh. What are the docs saying to it all then? (other than the time off)
Are you managing to get out and about or finding you are housebound most of the time? Bummer
I definitely need a new job. One that allows me to have a life again.
Welcome back.

The docs are saying 'have some pills, and take another couple of weeks off work. I'll set up an appointment with a specialist one of these days. . .' 2 weeks later 'have some pills, and take. . .etc...etc...'
I'm managing the occasional 6 hour walk across the Mendips, And to be honest, when it gets bad, I've never really had any objection to being house-bound really. Something of an ambition in fact. You really need another job. This one seems to be haunting you somewhat. If you're in IT, why not move to England? Actually, why? There must be loads of jobs up in Scotland. I know you don't have much spare time, but can't you do a course at home, SQL or PERL or something? There's always a demand for that kind of Mularkey.
Welcome back.

I know how you feel, my neighbour had to go into hospital and they told her she would be in for a week. The next day they sent her home because the specialist couldn't see her for 3 days. Stupid.
At least you are getting out and about. LOL, if I was housebound, i'd gett loads of courses done adn really make myself marketable.
I was thinking that there should be jobs a plenty up here. I had a look and naturally everyone wants 1/2/3 years experience. I just don't get the opportunity to do anything coursewise here. I had thought why go down to England for a job, you'd be just as well going out to Australia, where the market is still young, and at least I'd be near my dad, but I'm just not sure what I want to do at the mo.
I should try and make time to do some self teach courses. naturally evening classes are out of the question (as is anything that takes place on a regular basis) due to the shifts, but there must be courses I can do at home. I eed to look into it more deeply.
Not sure if a correspodance course is worth my while. I'd like to do some form of 10 week course, but homestudy. I want the knowledge now, not in 2 years time
Welcome back.

There's some online stuff you can do.
Not sure what you want to do yet. . .Hhhhhm, sounds familiar. But if I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, I would make sure I was un-sure in a decent climate.
(Sorry, forgot we don't have a climate over here - just weather).

Yeah, weather is something we certainly have plenty of. Pity you can't export it. I'd make a killing
Don't suppose you fancy a trip up to Glasgow for a meet-up on 24th Nov? Just curious. Details on my page under the SMEG link.
Starngely enough one of the guys here sent me a mail with a link to some of the coursework he's doing. haven't checked it out as yet, but might be interesting stuff.
Stay safe and well.

Cheers for the invite Capt.Briggs. Love to be able to come, bit I'll have to play it by ear. It's one of those dates where I can't remember what's going on, but if I book anything and commit myself, I'm pretty sure I'd be in for a rude awakening. Keep you posted, but it'd be nice to meet some people face to face. Any word from Eatsmice?
Regards,
Frogbit.
