Sub-editing "after death"

Gnomon - time to move on

Hi frleon.

I'm sub-editing your "What to Do when You Fail to Survive Death" at A85981125. I've a few questions.

"If you suffered from any sort of contagious diseases, you won't be accepted only after cremation." I didn't understand this as the English is rather odd. Do you mean that you will be accepted into the body farm only after you've been cremated? How can they study decomposition if your organs and soft tissues are already gone?

Or did you mean that you can get into the Donated Skeleton Collection after cremation?

In the "Outlive Millennia" section, you dismiss mummification as being illegal and difficult, but then in the "...or at least Centuries" section, you introduce mummification as if you had not mentioned it before. Is it OK if I combine these and put all the information about mummification in the Centuries section?

"Your bones as well as your teint" -- teint isn't an English word. Did you mistype something? Or is it a German word you forgot to translate?

If you're cremated, you'll go to the Skeleton collection. I didn't knew teint doesn't work in English, since it's a French loanword. I looked it up, it means complexion.

Gnomon - time to move on

Thanks. I've finished sub-editing this now. I'll send it back to the Eds tomorrow. If you see anything in the meantime that you're not happy with, let me.

Even if you don't get to me in time, don't worry. We can sort out any changes you want later, when it hits the front page. (I'm a curator, so I can do that).
