I wouldn't say I've got on the brain, but we had a free lunch today courtesy of some financial advisers... Who might actually be rather useful.

Mrs Zen Posted Feb 7, 2005
Well, I have certainly noticed other things on your brain as well.
What I honestly cannot work out is whether today has been annoying as such, or whether I have been over-reacting to fairly minor niggles. My landlady is twitchy, and I felt I had a fairly frosty reception last night. Nothing to do with me, I am sure, but I felt she could have done without me being there. I felt the same about Sheena at times.
Winge...
Moan...
Gripe...

It does sound like it's been a difficult day, and niggles do mount up.

Can you take a long lunch or something? Or leave early, if nothings' going right making a fresh start tomorrow may help..
If you need to rant/offload/whing/chat/gossip/whatever give me a ring..

As my Grandmother used to say; "Always wanting what is not, never wanting what you've got..." I am now finally getting into the groove and need to leave in about 3 minutes to pick up my car.
Hopefully I can find a supermarket on the way home, and buy a bottle of something and some food for tonight, and then back to the routine for tomorrow. I am just like a toddler really - disrupt my routine and I am wingey for the whole of the rest of the day. At least no-one has told me to take 'time out' sitting on the stairs!

Well I wouldn't say no to some ice cream...
What do you make of this, bunk beds, but self contained and £8.50 a night?

Or I can ring around B and Bs? The tourist board rate seems to be about £20 a person, but I could ring them up and see if that's different directly.
Sorry I'm avoiding work.. and I reallly like planing trips..

That sounds idyllic and cheap. I bet it's booked, but if not, let's bagsie it for the Saturday and Sunday nights.
How do the train times work out?
ach, and as well.

Booked!
There's a Bus on Monday morning and a couple on Saturday, if the worse comes to the worse it's a taxi which would be about £20, but that would only be once..

The trains all link up with the ferry

Just need to work out transport once we're on Skye.. this may require another phone call, but it's all relaxed then so it's ok.

Mrs Zen Posted Feb 8, 2005
When I went up, the busses met the Ferry. Looking at the map, we don't actually need to go to Portree, we could just go straight up to the cabin.

That would be I may buy some of the pancake mixture I use for Yorkshire Puddings at Christmas, becuase that's on sale downstairs and it worked quite well.
I've just been doing my travel agent impression and I've hit upon a (small problem)
Going involves
from Glasgow Queen Street 8.20
Arrive Malliage 13.30 and Armdale at 14.11.
Now there's a problem, the ferries switch to their summer timetable a week before the buses do which means that there isn't a from Armndale to Broadford (where one gets the next bus once we get to Broadford its' a simple matter of two rather pretty bus journeys to Carbost where it's walking distance.
So we'd need to either , get a taxi from Amrndale to Broadford (about £17) or (what I'd do if I was on myown) ask around on the ferry to see if anyone is driving up that way!

How bloody rediculous is that! Let's wing it at the time.
No need to buy mixture, all you need is eggs milk and flour and I have flour already, and will buy milk anyway. So its just eggs, really.
I've had a *much* better day today. Really managed to Get Stuff Done.
How 'bout you?
Oh, and did you see that Weegie is up for a bevvy?

Z Posted Feb 8, 2005
Fab news about Weegie, and no my stalking skills are slipping! I get distracted by public transport planning. One of the reasons I didn't fly to the Hebrides was that it was so much fun to plan it.
It looks awfully like a timetable error to me, and I'm happy to wing it! It may well be that it was resolved since the timetable was printed...

alert coming up...
Or we could go via Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh which does meet up with Buses on the Saturday and return via Malliag and the west highland line..
Which would mean an extra £30 on trains fares though.
I do find winging it far easier if you have good grasp of all the options in advance..
