I've owned a copy of that for years, almost twenty, I think!
I don't use it much. I just run it off on another tape so it's on both sides...
It used to be my "go to sleep" tape.

My kid listens to the same Bill Cosby tape every night when she goes to bed and recites the routines with him!

Wish You Were Here and Dark Side are the only albums I own that I literally never get tired of.

A friend of mine called Neil introduced them to my ex, and my ex used to put them on late at night. I have lost count of the number of times I have gone to sleep listening to them.

There was one time when my ex was learning to play guitar that I had gone to bed in the room above the living room. Neil, his sister, her husband and the former Mr Ben were still drinking and smoking in the room below. Everthing went quiet for a while and then there was the sound of 4 drunken out of tune voices lurching into "So... so you think you can te-e-ell..." etc. I couldn't hear the guitar through the floor, but I could hear the voices.

About your daughter and the Bill Cosby tape - I have just been reading a book called the Tipping Point, and among other things it talks about research done into how pre-school children watch tv. What works incredibly well is if tv shows are repeated 5 or more times in a row, before the next episode is aired - they get more things and different things out of them every time. Which of course is how we listen to music, so it should not be so much of a surprise.

Good to hear from you (tr). Thanks for dropping by.

Ben

Which also leads to such silliness as the telly-tubbies:

On a different subject, which thread did we divert from serious political discussion to a talk about the blues between you and Blues Shark via Munich? I thought it was 'get over 9/11' but apparently not. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F19585?thread=168678&post=1863920#p1863920 and Jim Lynn's reply http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F19585?thread=168678&post=1865469#p1865469 *seriously confused* Ben

Welcome to my planet!
No, you're right, the weekend seems like a long time ago.

My problem is, I can't remember who I was talking about Andy Capp cartoons with...
