h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I just thought I'd pop over and say hello. It's lovely to see a new face in the forums.

Well, thanks. Im new here, mainly for learning more English, but also because I like the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.

Then you're in the best place. We've got a few people who have come to h2g2 to improve their English. There's definitely a couple of Germans and Scandinavians. I think we have a Dutchman as well.

Your English seems to be quite good already, so hopefully you should be able to carry on talking to us without too many problems. Always ask if we say something that doesn't make sense.

Just to let you know, you are currently using the new h2g2 site which doensn't work properly. Most of us are using the old one which can be found at bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2 (rather than bbc.co.uk/h2g2). You are welcome to use either, but the old one works.

I can't make it, unfortunately. Typically I could make every other date in May! Ah well, these things happen. There will be more meets (I'll see to it!).

Sit in a pub, drink, chat and make friends, mostly. Here in London, some go for walking tours, or visit Kew Gardens, or go for a picnic. Whatever takes people's fancy

I think there is a difference between H2G2 English and UK English
