Cannot remember quite how I got to your Guide entry, but when I read it I wanted to just say a word or two.
Firstly, we all have disabilities, hidden or otherwise! Even the so-called hale and hearty. Otherwise, why are people still cruel to children, animals and each other? Why do people suddenly go completely off the rails and start murdering people, some quite randomly. We are all, to some extent, it seems, crippled inside by our own thoughts.
Secondly, a friend of mine suddenly went from being the most energetic, outgoing, up-for-anything (from orienteering to disco) sort of person, to one confined permanently to a wheelchair.
Until this happened, I regret to say, I was completely oblivious of the problems for those with physical disabilities. Despite the best efforts of recent times, it seems things really aren't that much better. So, more power to your elbow and good luck with the lobbying!
