(14+7-9+9)*2 does not in fact equal 42, it equals 6... the order of operations calls for addition before subtraction...reading it left to right will give 21 (*2=42)...

it is 6 because (14+7-9+9)*2 is grouped like this:
(14+7)-(9+9)
then 21 - 18
then 3 * 2 = 6

I see it now. Put like that I also get 6, but I don't think they're the same equation. Argon0 seems to have accepted it though.

i havent been to orlando so i dont know whats there...i have heard that to save money on lodging, it is wise to stay in a town called kissimmee ... i wish i could provide more but i am in north central florida...mickey mouse is moons away...but if you like i can try to do some investigating for you

We've booked a motel in Kissimmee. From the brochure it sounds like a nice place.

Thanks for the offer but no need for you to go out of your way. The book I have should be a big help. It's very objective and has different advice for different types of tourists (singles, couples, families with young kids (like us) or older kids, etc.).

My only worry is that we'll be coinciding with the summer rush. Do you know when the summer holidays are in Florida? We'll be there for the first week in July, right after the holidays begin here.
