Mrs Zen

Hey, froods, can we create a glossary which we can include in any documentation we create?

The first terms I thought of needing definitions are:

Hootoo
Hootizen
Researcher
Volunteer
NooHooToo
Rupert
Pre-Rupert
Italics

But there are so many more....

Who feels like a little light lexicography?

I'm OK at running with and fleshing out ideas. I'm just piss-poor at coming up with them. And you, my dear, seem to be exceptionally good at that bit.

Category, not really wrong.
Perhaps though, mention the Life/Universe/everything thought of main categories? The main categories are not so much subject as general area...
Sub-categories, not just fact/fiction but also subjects.
Tags - try to include some feeling of "one-off", unstructured adding of tags? Can't really put it in words at the moment, unless you want to copy more from the Categories and tags document http://docs.google.com/document/d/1IvYL4p-NYYxlz-6dnGPrNCfiVnscX-LRq8yp8X7gBLc/edit?hl=sv&authkey=CNeF9rkK#

It's hard to keep it short and concise at the same time smiley - smiley

Category - the first order organising principle of Entries in the Guide. Several categories can be applied to a single entry, for example an entry can be categorised by genre and by location.

Sub-Category - the second order organising principle of Entries in the Guide. Whether or not we require sub-categories depends on the category system that we choose.

Tag - relevant labels applied to an entry in addition to the way it is categorised in order to help search engines find the entry.
