I am ambivalence in motion.
I am the walking contradiction of shadow and light.
I am the pale hues of sunrise and the fiery embers of close of day.
I am the scarlet tendrils of passion
Running through purity's white linen.
I am the soft, cool grey of the dove in your hand.
I am the black satin of the panther crouched behind you.
I am the purple of the shadows in the forest
And the harsh white midday sun.
I am the quiet trickling of a meadow stream, and
The mighty rush of the mountain's white waters.
I am the flute of sorrow in a mournful ballad, and the
Trumpet of joy in an triumphant orchestra.
I am the gentle rustle of silk wrapped around the
Swishing glint of steel in a scabbard.
I am the tender voice of love, and
The trembling shout of passion.
Sometimes these warring factions tear me in two,
Yet I will find beauty in the struggle for unity.
