Barley song

Post 1

I didn't post the actual Irish text of the line from the 'Juice of the Barley' because I thought it might get squashed. Milk (bainne) of the cow (na mbó) and (is) of the goat (na ngamhna). The m and n in front of the words for cow and goat are part of the genitive - a cow is just bó. I'm afraid my Irish is very rusty, but that's one song I used to know well.

Oops!
I just remembered that the gamhna part of the song was calves' not goats', thus making the words even sillier.
