UnderGuide!
Posted Mar 14, 2008
Thought I'd better record my first UG entry going live on the FP: Imperator A33380994. I'm no literary genius, but I'm quite pleased with it, and I'm glad others thought it was at least half-decent. More UG offerings from me in the future? Not sure. I'd like to but I'd have to get round to it, and I have EG entries crying out to be written. Still, it's nice to do something different .

BAM!
Posted Oct 9, 2007
That's the sound of me being hit by book prices. I bought one of the core course books yesterday for 40 quid, but I don't think I'll be doing that for all of them. There's one on calculus which is advertised new for £53 . Then there's another two for another module, and I still have a couple of modules without a reading list! In fact, there are even more books listed, but only some of them are recommended as worth buying.

Freshers' Week - so far so good
Posted Oct 1, 2007
I am drunk enough to make my balance slightly dodgy, which means I am lucid but silly. I think this is the perfect kind of drunk to achieve during Freshers', and since I am a lightweight I only require a few pints.
It is curious that I seemingly disregarded all the stuff about things all turning out well during Freshers'. On the way here yesterday I was insanely nervous, while now I feel completely at home. It's amazing what a bit of alcohol and nice people can do.
Apologies for any bad spelling or grammar.

Results day rolls around again
Posted Aug 16, 2007
Well, I got my 3 'A's, which is more than enough to go and do the uni course I want. I am most pleased with myself, as you can imagine. Turns out I was right about the PH6 paper: I got a B in that (84/120). Still, the overall grade is the key thing.
I think I'll also note down my Maths marks out of 100 for all six papers I've done these two years, as they are rather interesting:
AS -level
C1: 96. C2: 95. M1: 98
A2-level
C3: 96. C4: 59 (). S1: 98.
59/100 for the C4 paper is a 'D' grade. It's interesting because it shows than an able student (which I consider myself to be) can easily mess up a paper. In that exam, there was a tricky question at the start which threw me totally and I started to panic. Suddenly nothing was going right. That said, most of the others doing the paper said it was hard and got similarly low marks on it.

The End!
Posted Jun 21, 2007
Today I sat my last A-level exam. Not wishing to blow my own trumpet, but exams are one of the few things that I'm really good at. But this year is the first time ever I have not been sure of a good outcome (that means an A-grade - not wishing to sound arrogant, but that's what I've been getting and my predicted grades are 3 'A's). Today's exam was PH6 - the Physics synoptic paper - and rather tricky. I feel I have prepared well but there seems to be a greater deal of uncertainty about how well I did this time. Still, there's nothing I can do now except enjoy the summer holidays until results day (16th August, I believe - the day after my birthday).
Oh, and I now I have 25 Edited Entries to my name. Written at a rate of just under one a month. Not very quick, but never mind .
