You had some changes/additions to make, didn't you, mentioned after the Eds did the picking. Wanna list them here? smiley - smiley

Well, the only thing I thought of is, as pointed out in the PR thread, the diagrams. I always find things a lot easier to understand with them, and so I put plenty of them in links in the Entry. But one person - Opti I think - didn't notice them, so I wonder whether perhaps no one tends to follow the links unless it says in the entry that there's something important in them. So the only change I would make is to draw attention to the diagrams by saying 'see this diagram', 'as shown here' or whatever and putting a link in.

How about an opener to the Entry:

The author has provided diagrams to aid visual understanding. The reader is encouraged to click on the accompanying links.

<The eagle-eyed may spot dashed lines (usually in red if the chart is in colour) which are numbered with the atmosphere's thickness. These work in the same way as isobars, joining up areas with the same thickness. But what is thickness.>>

Should that be "But what is thickness?" or "But what thickness?"

The entry opener idea is neat. Although not all links are diagrams smiley - erm.

As for thickness, it's a distinct meteorological term so I think it's right to say 'What is thickness?'.

The wording can stay, I just wanted to know whether to add the question marksmiley - winkeye

Can you suggest a better opener then? smiley - smiley

I've been adding links, if there's any you disagree with, I'll remove them. There's only one I'm unsure of is the "why the Earth has seasons" and is the Arctic Circle one alright, it's the closest I could findsmiley - winkeye

That's fine smiley - smiley.

The only thing I can think of for the opener to is add 'A complete list of diagrams can be found in the 'referenced sites' section.'

Or something to that effect, since all the external links are diagrams.

Post 11

Alternatively you could italicise all the external links and say in the opener that this denotes a diagram. Do you think that would look too untidy?

Right, have a look at what I've done. This can be tweaked, anywhichway.

Sorry if I'm jumping on this too quickly, but the 'editorial note' seems to have been lost...

Thanks for subbing GB smiley - cheers.

Though it's missing the little bit at the top about the diagrams smiley - erm.
