I have had two messages telling me that my name is reset to a number, listing all kinds of reasons that don't relate to me at all. One time, nothing did happen. The second time, I was only a number for an hour and then me again.
Do I have to pass some kind of test or proof of being who I am?

There could be a couple of reasons for your username being reset.
There's quite a few glitches with the site at the moment, so it could be just a glitch, or it could be concern about the possibility of you using your real name (personal details). I have no idea if that is your real name or not, but it looks like it could be a real name.
I see lil has posted you an <./>ACE</.> Welcome. The Aces are often more informed (I'm an ex Ace) than the rest of the community, so it may be worth replying to lil's message, she may be able to shed more light for you.

Maybe an hour later, my name came back. And just now I get the third message about having to choose another name. I am only a number again.
I have followed the many steps to the appeal thing, so maybe someone there can answer me
