There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

In case anyone says to me "I bet you can't remember the last day you didn't have any booze."

Sho - employed again!

Come to mine - Gruesome #2 had a party for around 60 of her friends and we bought all the alcohol.
And the pests didn't drink it all. I have about 10 crates of beer sitting in my garage...

"the pests didn't drink it all" that is what will happen when you cater for your tastes, rather than your guests.....Just because you drink like a fish does not say everyone does...

I'll take all the leftover altbier off your hands, Sho.

You can call me TC

Well, for my son's wedding party, we drove 300 km to the Eifel with a car full of 90 bottles of wine. We should have known - all those Northerners just drank beer. smiley - ale However, as is the custom in these parts, half of the wine bottles were special gift bottles with bespoke labels and each family/couple/guest was given one bottle to take home.

Some took some of the unlabelled bottles to take home with them and somehow, there was no wine left once all was cleared away.

Son had also provided 10 bottles of gin. smiley - pggb That didn't go as much as he thought it would either!

Anyway, Gosho. Is this abstinence for medical reasons or voluntary? Is there a time limit on it or is this a change of lifestyle? Have you signed the "pledge"?

Or, having read the thread more thoroughly - is it just the one day?

Oh it was just the one day TC, and it wasn't planned, it just happened. Normally, when I get home from work I take a shower as soon as I get in, particularly at this time of the year, then I either open a bottle of beer or make a cocktail while catching up on internet stuff, before having dinner. On days off I do the same around 6pm. There hasn't been a day in recent memory when I haven't done that, until... whenever it was. I was tempted, because I hate breaking a streak, but by the time I'd showered and ate and watched the cricket, I couldn't be bothered, so I didn't.

So it just goes to show - I can give it up any time I want and I'm not an alcoholic smiley - drunksmiley - ok
