There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Started conversation Nov 16, 2013
My brane has done it to me again.
I was at the supermarket earlier this week and one of the items on my list was strawberries, jam for the making of, but I'd also been looking at a marmalade recipe. Seville oranges. That's what you need for marmalade. Not Valencia oranges.
Which is what I suddenly started looking for, and found and bought Well, Seville... Valencia... both sound Spanish I suppose. Easy enough mistake to make, right? But Whereas Seville oranges are good for marmalade because they're bitter, Valencia oranges are sweet and are good for juicing, and my reason told me at the time 'Those don't look like the Seville oranges I remember seeing images of'.
So now I've got three pounds of Valencia oranges and no marmalade in the kitchen cupboard. I wonder what the chances are of making marmalade with them?
No, I didn't buy the strawberries.

That's not a bad idea, especially since candied peel is a lot harder to get hold of here than in the UK.
So are glacé cherries, except at this time of the year, but boy are they expensive. I meant to make some this year during cherry season.
I forgot
