Peter Dimmock on the left, obviously Never could tell the difference between left and right. No idea how I managed to pass my driving test.

Sho - employed again! Posted Jan 21, 2014
when I did my driving test I wrote an L on my left hand and an R on my right hand with eyebrow pencil.
As I was getting out of my driving instructor's car she said "you have them on the wrong hands" and it was too late to do anything because off I went. And did everything perfectly in respect of left and right. Which was a bit weird.

You had them correct. You wrote an L with your left hand and you wrote an R with your right. What's wrong with that?

My problem with left and right has always been that before I knew which was which I decided it for myself. I had a 50% chance of getting it wrong or right. I got it wrong

I rarely have to think about it anymore. But for most of my life I would occasionally have to rely on the mnemonic that I "write with my right hand".

There are some people for whom even the word 'legend' isn't big enough.

That's him, front right, covered in yellow paint http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1097579008/tt0057193?ref_=ttmd_md_pv# in one of the finest films ever made.

One of my fondest memories of my very young youth was watching It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World at my great grandmother's house when I was maybe 4 or 5. She was babysitting me while my parents went out on New Years Eve (around 1972-3). It was the first time I was allowed to stay up until midnight. My grandmother thought it was a silly film, and it was, delightfully so to me. She kept insisting that rather than nodding off, she was just "resting her eyes".
Ya know what makes a great double feature with this? The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming. I must have watched both those films that night from they way they're linked in my mind.

oh I absolutely love that film. Time for it to be shown on TV again.

oh I had to check that smiley is allowed - then I realised, in the new Pliny when you reply to a message your message about the... well, that one and that other one not being allowed doesn't show.
Does that mean we can use them now???

You mean "Before entering, it is a requirement that you leave your bags at the door. We don't make the same demand of your courtesy and good manners - please bring those in with you. We also ask that you refrain from using both the 'erm' and 'wah' smileys on these pages: 'wah' makes you look like a crybaby, while 'erm'... well, I just don't like it, so Thank you." doesn't show in Pliny?
All the more reason to stick with Goo (no pun intended)

A little before my time as he retired from playing football when I was four years old, but a name as familiar to me as Stanley Matthews, Stan Mortensen or Tommy Lawton.

I think they could have found a better still from the series than that.
