Because it right about now on this day in 1999 that I was stepping off a plane at Austin Bergstrom and meeting the soon-to-be Mrs Gosho for the first time

I vividly remember the drive back from the airport, especially that little dogleg on 45th Street where it crosses Duval, and the fact that it was still 90° at 10pm. Ah well, some things never change.
I'd go to the Magnolia Café tomorrow morning, just like we did on my first morning in Austin, but it'll be Sunday this time rather than Thursday and I can't be arsed with trying to get a table for one at the same time as half of Austin are intent on having Sunday brunch.

A little less than a year later Dewey arrived, and then Flossie . Oh, there was also Ida in between, but Dewey and Ida didn't see eye-to-eye. That was a very fraught couple of weeks.

I think I'll dig a bottle of something good out from the back of the fridge

it! Go. Get that table for one in the middle of their rush. Enjoy it.

I may go to Kerbey Lane instead - the other well known Austin diner. There's one but a five minute walk from Fort Gosho and if I get up early enough I can do it before the crush. And it's going to be real nice in the morning after tonight's low of 63 In fact I'm feeling a little chilly already
