Most of the computer models have Gustav hitting the Louisiana coast, continuing north west until it gets to the Texas-Louisiana border, then turning west and south west to travel down through central Texas in the direction of Big Bend

Saturday - scorchio minus four. no rain.
Hanna has decided to take a more conventional track up the east coast of America and is probably going to do bad things to the Bahamas. Gustav is still forecast to make a gentle arc west and then south west after it crosses the coast and travel down through central Texas, by which time it'll probably be no more than a tropical depression. Hopefully.
In the meantime we might be back to scorchio tomorrow.

I just checked your computer models link for what's left of Gustav. I don't think they could be much more divergent. It's like they all get to a point a half a day out and say "Buggrit!"

Tuesday - scorchio plus one, no rain. Number of scorchio days this summer - 50.
Gustav has pulled a cold front down to north Texas. Dallas might only make it to the mid 70s today We're still going to be in the mid to upper 90s though

We had rain and cold yesterday - don't think we even hit 70. It was really nice. I shut off the a/c and opened the windows on the house & everything.

We're no where near that point yet, but the air was a bit cooler this morning on my ride in to work today. It was quite pleasant. I think we may stay in the low 90's or maybe even only the high 80's... Joy.

The low tonight is supposed to be 53. Of course it's supposed to be around 90 on Saturday. And I would bet money that we'll have more scorchers before we see November.

Friday - scorchio minus four, no rain, no sub-70° temperatures on Thursday night.
Well, here's a turnup for the books. It looks as if Ike is not going to travel up the centre of Florida after all but pass between Florida and Cuba, then head into the Gulf of Mexico... towards New Orleans

Saturday - scorchio minus three, no rain, 68° last night
Ike is still pointed towards NOLA in the five-day forecast, but all the six- to seven-day forecasts have it turning away from the Louisiana coast... maybe towards Texas?

All the models now have the storm missing New Orleans and pointing towards the Texas coast.
This is a little worrying seeing as how I'm less than 200 miles from the coast, and CZ is right there. Maybe it'll keep turning to the south...

Sunday - scorchio minus four, no rain, no sub-70 temperatures because the wind has turned back to the south and brought some warm, humid air back to Texas.
Ike is still pointing at the Texas coast - Galveston and Houston to be precise - with a possible landfall late next Saturday.

Monday - scorchio minus four, no rain, no sub-70° temperatures, a trace of rain, very muggy.
The landfall for Ike is moving further south. At the time of writing it's predicted to hit Corpus Christi. While that's pretty nasty for Corpus, it's none too good for us either because the northern/eastern section of a hurricane usually packs the most wallop as far as rain and wind is concerned.
