Well it depends if it is a school night or not, and if I'm up for half or a full one (gallon that is). Sometimes the best hits the spot, other times it is the mild and it could be the premium xb.
What is it about through American psyche that equates bigger is always better. This evening after work I've enjoyed a really flavourfull beer that weighs in at 3.6% I could spend all afternoon drinking it - and did at a meeting in a pub on Sunday.

I don't think it's just the American psyche, but it certainly seems more prevalent here, especially when it comes to beer. But the backlash has begun against all those uber-bitter double IPAs and 10%+ ABV Russian Imperial Stouts.

Allow me to introduce you to my friends at Jester King brewery, barely 10 miles from Fort Gosho http://jesterkingbrewery.com/beers/ Please note the ABV on Petit Prince, Bonnie the Rare and Das Wunderkind. What's missing from that lineup is their début beer, Commercial Suicide. A 3.2% English Dark Mild, and delicious it was too. I hear it'll back soon The first time I tried it, it almost brought a tear to my eye, so close was it to the way I remember Holts Mild being poured at the Claremont in Moss Side

Interesting looking beers, especially as they're looking more at cask/gravity fed than force carbonation

They do some cask-conditioned beer but mostly they concentrate on bottle-conditioning, plus some keg beer for a handful of accounts.

I shared a bottle of Das Wunderkind with some friends on Monday night Seriously good beer, as is Wytchmaker, which I have a bottle of and which I'm also going to have to share. Last time I drank one of those to myself (750ml) it was lights out Got one or two Black Metal bottles angrily ageing in the pantry.
