I don't know if you are a lemur, John Cleese or World Cup fan but have a listen to this:

I'm on his Fanz mailing list so it was supposedly passed on to me from the Great Lemur himself. smiley - laugh

Hmm... it seems I don't have iTunes on my computer.

Actually, I knew that already smiley - tongueout

Not a World Cup fan... not a footie fan at really, but I will be visiting a pub in Austin early on Saturday to watch West Ham cream Liverpool in the FA Cup Final smiley - biggrin

Or get creamed by Liverpool smiley - sadface

Hockey or as you might say Ice Hockey is my single remaining sports interest. Now that the Canucks have stumbled out of the playoffs I've lost all interest though. I find comfort in dipping into other sports and adopting the odd team here and there. I'll keep my eye open for a similar pub here for Saturday and either clap you on the back metaphorically or comiserate with you next week.

Thanks smiley - ok

I used to love watching several different sports - cricket, Formula One, Wimbledon (but not any other tennis except the Stella Artois), athletics, the Tour de France... in fact mostly summer sports. There was a lot of motorcycle scrambling and motocross on TV when I was a kid - that was great fun, and I was always there at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon for the wrestling smiley - biggrin

Cricket is really the only sport I keep any tabs on these days. All my life I've disliked football. I hated playing it when I was a kid. I got briefly interested in 1966 when the World Cup finals were held in Britain and I can still remember the final when England beat Germany. I do like to see how West Ham are doing, and I've been to a handful of games at Upton Park (as well as a few other grounds).

Cricket is something I never could find an interest in. I was taught and played the b*st*rdized versions in school- rounders and Indian cricket but I never developed much of an interest. I only played rugby and soccer (football to you) in school and only developed an interest in them when the offside rules were explained well to me. I enjoy watching golf on a rainy Sunday afternoon, though. I know, it's like watching paint dry but I do like it. I can even watch a sailing race now that they have all those great little cameras all over the boats. smiley - laugh

Y'know, I kinda like watching big golf tournaments too - it's something of a guilty secret... or it would be if I had a TV smiley - tongueout

Yes, you did smiley - biggrin

The bar I work at is a service bar and it's at a cinema, so no TVs. It's almost part of the kitchen.

Well as someone who actually manufactures some of the dreck on the glass teat (now more often a wafer) I feel no reason to defend it. I can however use my profession as a wonderful excuse to drown myself in a torrent of television now and then, good and bad.

Lucky me. smiley - laugh

There is more good TV on, er... TV than a lot of people give it credit for. Leastways, I think there is. I'll happily watch something like Thunderbirds, then a riveting documentary about astrophysics or quantum mechanics, then Blazing Saddles, then a serious news analysis programme, then an old 70s sitcom like Rising Damp. I found though that since a lot of the things I'd really like to watch are far too British to be shown on US television, there wasn't quite as much as I wanted to watch, and I can get most movies I want to watch either from a shop, Netflix or BitTorrent. Or I can watch them at work smiley - biggrin
