Hallo.
I've been allocated as the Sub-editor for this Entry A87730383
Before I send it back for inclusion in the Edited Guide, I'll get in touch, just so as to get the a-ok.
Matt

Thanks Matt, I appreciate that, just don't tell Gnomon that you did it as he thinks it is wrong for subeditors to have anything to say to authors and I think that sort of disses authors and is not the way to encourage authors to write more for the edited guide.(see that sort of run on sentence is why I need a subeditor). At least Dmitri has found that seems to work better that way.

Your mother and father should be proud of a son who is so well-mannered. I am impressed. I wish it were a bit more contagious!

I'm pretty much done, just going to add some more pertinent links, and then I'll return it for addition to the EG on Monday (giving us the weekend to make sure it's spot on).
Hope you're happy with the changes, and if you spot any major clangers yourself, let me know

Does this really need a link to WWII? I like to add links if they are relevant but it looks as though there is a special to be had on it.
Or are subeditors given a 'quota' of h2g2 links to add in?

Sorry I just think that causes of WWII bring nothing to the entry topic. Maybe I just missed the connection?

No, it's me being over zealous, subs should try for around 10 h2g2 links in an Entry to provide across site coverage...
But I'll take it out - you're right, what with the Nazi link, and the Hitler, Boycott's link too, enough is there.
If you thunk of anything else over the weekend, let me know

Unfortunately NBB's high jump entry isn't done yet ---but I think the shot put, and discus ones are in the queue, but not yet through the process. They could be added but I think DG's one on shocking Olympic moments is a great tie in.
What is the deal with future linking of these,I think that NBB is going to have a massive entry linking ALL of them up. But my feeling is that the links should be more ON Topic. Users can use the search box to get to the others.

What's happened in the past is that as soon as Entries go live, Curators/Editors have updated the links throguh a request in Editorial Feedback. Once those relevant Entries follow through, I can alert the Curators/Editors to the fact and get them to add the relevant links.
