Back again on H2G2
I'm starting to get routine in getting back to H2G2 with a new identity.
In my first incarnation as XRGon I wrote a guide entry about How to Eat Weisswurst. That was back in August 2000.
In my second incarnation as Mottenbertl I wrote a guide entry about How to Drink Beer on the Munich Oktoberfest. That was back in November 2007.
Now it's July 2010, my new Identity is Mottenmann and I just wrote an article about Public Nudity in Munich.
What can we conclude from that?
- The BBC obviously has a cycle of innovation of less than three years. Meaning that the BBC changes the underlying technology for user accounts obviously every year - or maybe every couple of months. That's impressive, but way to short for me. My average between two articles is five years.
- My BBC identities are obviously condemned to die again and again. There must be a spiritual kinship between my BBC identities and Agrajag - the pitiful H2G2 character who gets killed by Arthur Dent again and again. That's a nice coincidence.
- Obviously I keep writing guide entries about typical Munich stuff. That's good because I know a good deal more things about Munich than - let's say Managua, the capital of Nicaragua.
- The time interval between my guide entries gets shorter. More precisely: with every entry, the time interval is reduced by about 50 percent. That means that the next guide entry can be expected some time in January 2012. That also means that - if the reduction of time interval length goes on - some time in the future, my only activity will be writing guide entries. That sounds promising to me. But: my guide entries will become shorter and shorter. That doesn't sound too promising for my readers.
I think that's a pretty good characterization of me and my guide entries.
