Are you an artist as well as a yogi? (reference to your personal comments that nobody will read).
Read by this nobody.
Greetings

Hello, and yes...
Although 'Artist' makes me sound serious, which I'm not,
well, not serious at being an artist,
in fact not too serious about any thing!
Some people though, do seem to take Art with a capital A seriously and there is nothing wrong with that either....
but yes I like to doodle/draw/do colouring in!
and relaxing on my mat!
Do you??
ps I love your little 'thing' about napkins in Peer Review...

I doodle too. I have invented a few cartoon characters, mainly for the amusement of family and friends. I invented Vestboy when I was about 9 or 10 and he has developed over the years, mainly on here as a figment of several imaginations, rather than as a drawn character.
I cartoon more than anything and long to be able to draw more seriously.
I think I see the world with a cartoonists eye and love the craziness of everyday situations. E.g I don't know if you heard the story from South America this week about the poor woman in her 80s who suffered a fractured skull after being hit by a cat thrown from a 4th story window as a result of a domestic argument between a husband and wife.
It's really not funny but there is an absurd element to it.

...poor cat!
If you like to doodle - why are you not offering your services as a community artist?
I got involved by writing a piece, and then offering an illustration to go with it...
from all accounts the 'hootoos in charge' need people who can draw with a pen as opposed to drawing with a mouse... the more the merrier...
you should do, you've been around for long enough...

Vestboy Posted Jan 17, 2012
Yes, I am quite long in the tooth on Hootoo.
D'you know I thought, "poor cat!" as well.
I have a lot of things going on at the moment, but I may offer my services. I'm not sure they'd use them, though. Do you read the articles and then offer to illustrate them or are you asked to illustrate ones that you haven't read yet?
Doodlings
Rosie Posted Jan 17, 2012
Well,
I wrote an article, and then someone who knew me personally, asked if I could offer an ilustration to go with it, so I did - e-mailed the 'friend' and she downloaded it on to hootoo, so other 'artists' could see it and then I was invited to join the 'club'!
I now go onto PR and if there are any articles I feel I could illustrate (I've done castles and a moorhen for eg) I send them in...or if there is nothing I fancy (at the mo' its all rather heavy stuff that I really don't understand) I leave it!
...having said that I was asked to do yours
hope you aproove

That sounds interesting. I don't have a scanner at the moment.
You've illustrated one of mine! Which one? I can't see an illustration of the chicken. Do I need to look somewhere else?

Rosie Posted Jan 18, 2012
re: your chicken...let it be a surprise, so don't go nosing around!!
and initially you don't need a scanner ....just send an email and attachment...or...

Thanks for that info. I'm always finding new things about this place. I bought myself a half decent camera last year and it would be good to submit some photos if they suit the entries.
Do we have an entry about Koalas having two thumbs on each hand yet? I've got just the picture for that one.
Doodlings
Vestboy Posted Jan 19, 2012
Indeed. The only problem is that the phrase "Did you know that Koalas have two thumbs on each hand?" Is all I could write on this topic. Do you think that would be enough?
Doodlings
Vestboy Posted Jan 19, 2012
I think that Koalas should be canonised so that they can become the patron saint of texters. Can you imagine the speed they could get up to with a mobile phone with 4 thumbs in action at once. My mind boggles.

Rosie Posted Jan 19, 2012
they may be good texting, but they don't half stink ( I met one once in Perth) so as for canonisation...me thinks not!!
How long have you been out there in Oz Land then?
And how's the granddaughter?

I've been here since August 2010 on a three year contract.
As far as I know my granddaughter continues to be the cleverest, kindest, gentlest and most beautiful child born to any one but me.
But that information may be coming from a biased source.

Hi...long time no chat
I understand you're back in the UK, and I hope your family are well
but I'm here to ask a favour...
I've been asked to ask if you could help us out here with a photo for your entry...
The 's are very short staffed these days so I've been given the task to chat you up to see if you could take a photo of your game for us??
If you're not able to help - that's fine cos Taveron says she's able to build the game and photo it herself if you don't feel able (but I know she's busy 'doing' other stuff)
So wad'you think?? Have some while you think about it.....
Let me know, either way, so I can let the folks back at base know...
If you can send it to: artists at h2g2 dot com
thanking you in anticipation

I did have several photos of one of the games I made (with racing cars to coincide with a car race meet), but I think they are in Australia, still. I will see if I can conjour something up. Can you give me the email again for where I would send it?
