Hi :-)
Laura Posted Sep 21, 2005
Well, I'm part of a batch of 60 new starters so we're all in the same boat . I didn't actually go to work today, I had an interview for a change to my contract and then was told not to go in as the systems were down or something . I was supposed to finish training today, but things going to plan isn't a common occurance
Hi :-)

60 new starts big organisation then
Change is good ,it keeps you alert and eager, not at all a bad thing
Will you be working with a lot of other people then?
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Sep 21, 2005
I'm in the civil service , but hey, it's a start . There're actually 400 of us starting altogether, just 60 in our 'batch'. My job is to see if people are owed a tax refund from the 04/05 tax year due to breaks in employment.
Hi :-)

Oh splendid you get to give people money back from the inland revenue
400 of you that is an awful lot of refunds
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Sep 23, 2005
I've also learnt the importance of checking your own tax , if people have a history of not returning forms, none will be issued
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Sep 24, 2005
must run and check my last return
What is the next thing you are looking forward to doing( holiday,decorating,party.....)
Have a lovely weekend.
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Sep 27, 2005
It's worth checking, a lot of things don't get done unless the taxpayer enquiries.
Well, I've made a friend locally now, so next thing is a trip to the cinema next weekend. I booked one day's leave for October to get to my parent's 25th wedding anniversary, but as far as holidays go that's all that's coming up in the near future . Decorating wise we've some shelves to put up but most the major work is done.
I did, nice and relaxing . Hope you had a good weekend too
Hi :-)

Am glad you have made a new friend locally
I haven't been to the cinema for such a long time*sigh* my own fault for having too many things to do at one time
25 years that is a silver wedding anniversary isn't it?So are you having a family get together and a big party
I did have a very relaxing weekend and it went all to quickly.
take care until next time
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Sep 27, 2005
Me too, most my friends are scattered all over the place now thanks to finishing university
Yes, there's going to be a family reunion way down south, so I need the Friday off to get there for the Saturday . Will also be useful to pick up the rest of my stuff, especially my winter coat now it's getting a bit chilly up here
You too
Hi :-)

I just reorganised my wardrobe at the weekend to get all my warmer clothes back out and the summer ones put away.It is really chilly in the morning and at night now , and it was so lovely last week.
Family reunions are so great I went to a wedding anniversary recently and it was wonderful ,they recreated the top table of their wedding (same kind of flowers and cake and menu) it was really well done.
