Hello wildamethyst, saw your name in a friend's journal and thought I'd drop by and say hello .
Interested in the natural world, so am I . I've just finished an environmental science degree and it's been very interesting. I'm now trying to write up what I've learned into Guide Entries.
I see you are fairly new to the site too, hope you are enjoying it

Hello glad you dropped by ,and I am impressed an environmental science degreePlease tell me more about your degree like how long it took you,and what you want to do now?
I just nature and surround myself at every opportunity,I am really lucky because there is a lot of wildlife and stunning landscape where I live.Today on my way home I just stopped and watched the wild rabbits playing and feeding in the evening sun and by the stream there all sorts of insects and birds, japenese bind weed is in bloom,I am still awe struck by it all and I see it every day
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 19, 2005
It took three years, and now I'd like to get a job relevant to my degree
I like to get out amongst the natural world as often as I can too, I love to go for long walks in varios parts of the UK . I was in the Pyrenees recently, a sort of end of university treat, and all the alpine flowers were in bloom on top of the mountains, it was beautiful . A mistake in navigation led us to a lovely valley - it was so beautiful we went back the next day just to explore it some more . My cousins live in Scotland so I've been there quite frequently, it certainly has some very beautiful parts
Hi :-)

Well a well deserved end of university treat alpine flowers are so beautiful and the colours, always maintain that the best place to view a mountain is from the top of another mountain.I hope you took lots of photographs while you were there
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 19, 2005
I fully agree, the people who think mountains are best viewed from the bottom really don't know what they're missing . Indeed I did
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jul 19, 2005
you know how much fun walking is and you bump into people you know on different walks ,always time for a chat unless the fog is falling
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 19, 2005
Don't want to get stuck on a mountain in the fog . A bit of mist is OK though, once saw a brockenspectre as a result
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jul 19, 2005
I know fog can be quite scarey
Rainbows ,are fantastic but sadly they are never the same on film.I saw a double double rainbow stretching across Glen Lyon it was amazing.
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 19, 2005
Especially if you're not entirely sure where you're going .
They are great, and you're right, they're never quite the same on film. No mountain scenes are though, you really need to have it all around you
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 19, 2005
I'm currently on Jury service. After that I'm moving in with my boyfriend, which fortunately means I'll be closer to some higher ground than I am at the moment
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jul 19, 2005
jury sevice I did it once and was called up again but it was cancelled
with moving in with your boyfriend.
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 19, 2005
Well, the once court case I've been on so far was dismissed as the prosecution fell apart, but I'm needed for a dfferent case tomorrow.
Thanks , I'm really quite looking forward to it .
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jul 19, 2005
It actually was quite interesting jury service but once was enough for me the wheels of justice can turn very slowly sometimes!
Will pop over to your PS next time I am on line until then take careHave to for now
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jul 20, 2005
Dropped in your your PS ,and haven't you got it looking nice with all your moving pictures and photos
I nearly gave the Aces who helped me with my picture tag a breakdown
What kind of day did you have?
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 20, 2005
There were a lot of essays I didn't want to get round to writing, so my space sort of grew...
I had a lot of spare time in the first year, so I taught myself GML
It was rather dull, five hours of waiting in the juror's lounge, was sworn in and then told to go home as it was too late to get the trial started
Hi :-)
xxxxxxxxxxxx Posted Jul 20, 2005
Told you about the wheels of justice being painfully slow, and isn't it worse when you are looking out of the window at the sunshine
Been one of those days today that has went far too quickly and I still have things I really need to do but I find Hootoo as good a distraction as any
Hi :-)
Laura Posted Jul 20, 2005
They certainly are slow
hootoo is a good distraction . When I really did need to do work I used to ask people to tell me to go away if I started posting .
Key: Complain about this post
