Work
Posted Jul 18, 2000
Does the absurdity of work ever crash into anyone else? I mean, why in the world would anyone ever think up jobs like we have today? I sit here, answer maybe 3 phone calls an hour, check the mail, and play on the computer because I'm bored to death. Sure, it's great to get paid for it all, but I go home and feel like I've done nothing of value, like what I spend my entire day doing just wasn't important at all. I want to do something that matters in the world, and most modern jobs that involve any amounts of money are pointless. In fact, to some extent, I think that the more your job matters, the less you get paid. And they still persecute visionaries.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
