Well, lots of reasons why not.

The whole posting - subject line and message body - comprises our submission. We can effectively make it as long as we would like it to be. We use our creativity to develop an argument. This isn't Twitter. We're not expected to post everything in 140 characters (or however long a subject line is). We cannot expect that every submission can be condensed into that short space, and even if it were mandatory, which thankfully it isn't, then researchers should like the freedom to compose that for themselves.

If the community editors want to write our submissions for us, then perhaps they should just ban researchers from submitting posts and ask the questions themselves? Maybe some researchers would prefer that kind of forum - I certainly wouldn't.
