More vamp stuff
Posted Jul 24, 2000
And so another Nosferatu is inducted into the city. Which is to say, Bret did decide to play a Nos. Which is good, because we need all the people we can get.
In other news, Soze and Kobiyashi are still in exile, though the hunts have been called off. Soze did get what he deserved, but I'm personally investigating the charges against Kobiyashi. There are a number of... discrepancies between what has been said by certain people on either side of that little conflict. Also, one of my clan waltzed into the Elysium disguised as Kobiyashi. He was staked within the space of thirty seconds upon sight... I'm gonna miss him. Besides all that, not much of interest to relate. Onward....

Vampire Update

I brought in a new player! My good friend Sam has joined the ranks of the Tremere. Next week, my other friend Bret will also get sucked into the game, very possibly as a Nosferatu.
But onto the game: A new prince was voted in: Feather of the Tremere, 4-3 over Allister, the Nos elder and my favorite for election. Alas. Later, the Primogen were called upon again to vote on the potential exile of former prince Soze. He was ousted, 1-6. I must count myself among those who voted against him, mostly because of his actions after being voted down from prince. That was when the real sh*t came down. Soze rather refused to leave, and thus many of the city were forced to fight him. Not a good thing, as he is obscenely powerful... he was eating up shotgun blasts right and left, and his two companions in arms were also fairly mighty elders. That was a bit of a bloodbath.... What's worse, the new prince called a Blood Hunt on both Soze and his elder Ventrue ally, Kobiyashi. Damn, if they had asked me (As a primogen), I would've definitely advised against it! But it doesn't stop there... my own elder was attacking Soze! He didn't stand a chance, but he did it anyway. That does not bode well for us Nosferatu. Finally, I was accosted by a tentacle creature very similar to the one called into the Elysium last week. It asked me about the Lasombra, and I ended up giving it Allister's name as a person to ask! Of course I had to tell my elder, despite the demon's threats to kill me... we'll see what happens now.

Game update

"Outlaw Star" Game: Opened up the night in the middle of the desperate chase described in the earlier entry. A brief search of the Mysterious Stetson-wearing Old Dead guy turned up a docking bay number: 94. Yes, feel free to groan now. So we made our way to the aforementioned docking bay, only to run into a Demon Hunter... who immediately challenged the party Vampire to a duel of honor. Unfortunately, the inevitable carnage was interrupted by the appearance of a one Karine, a gun bunny being chased by a trio of leg-breakers. That firefight was a brief one, and we thus made peace with the Hunter and made to the Docking Bay.
We gained entrance to our fine, unarmed, basically worthless tramp freighter just in time to avoid being blasted to little charred bits by the mass of laser wielding uniforms. The only thing to be had here was a blatantly illegal departure ("You will be boarded....") and a run for the nearest... asteroid belt... which was between us and the hyperspace takeoff zone... with a large battle cruiser chasing us... named the Yamato... anyone with any grasp of popular sci-fi knows what happens now. But if you don't, then okay, here: We make the run through the belt, the Yamato smashes into the belt behind us, and we bound merrily into Hyperspace. And remember: If the ship's name is Yamato, it's doomed. That's the moral for this week.
We leave our merry bunch en route to the artifact space ship. More later, eh?

I think I'm gonna do an article on the Japanese language. Really fascinating for amateur wannabe linguist dorks like myself.

The story thus far....
Posted Jul 14, 2000
Luckily, both of the games I'm in don't go back to far. So, here's an update:
Vampire LARP (Live Action Role Playing) game: Based in Sacramento, California, US of A, modern day. My character: A 12th gen Nosferatu by the name of Tak. He's the clan whip, and currently acting Primogen (The guy who runs things within the clan itself, represents his clan in the Council, and reports to the clan Elder.) Not bad for only 3 weeks of gaming, but a lot's been happening. For more information on the Vampire game and the World of Darkness, check out the appropriate websites. Try White Wolf, too, they made the game.
Anyway, I joined the game just in time to witness the downfall of Soze, the Ventrue who used to be the city Prince (Prince: Vampire who oversees all kindred operations within the city). By the time he was actually voted out by the council, I was active as acting Primogen for my clan. I voted for the prince, but he was ousted 4-3... he later gathered his supporters and beat the snot out of those who had opposed him, so I'm glad I chose as I did, as his supporters arerather on the low-gen and powerful side, as is he. Next session, the new prince is voted in. Soze's up for reelection, as is the Nosferatu elder Allister. As a Nos clan member, he'll get my vote, but there's no guarantees in this race... the candidates are a wee bit more interesting and varied than, say, Gush and Bore. In the meantime, someone opened a gate to the infernal realms... right in the middle of the Elysium, which is where the local Vampires hold court. This could be interesting....
Outlaw Star is (Manga basis for) the tabletop game I'm in. It's a futuristic scifi setting using the Champions system. I'm playing the classic Pilot, Anjin. He's got a couple of nifty guns, hey? So here's what's happened:
Myself and my companions (A werecat creature and a psionic vampire) were lounging in a bar on a space station, right? So then an old guy with a Stetson hat asked us to help him recover an artifact spacecraft. Our first clue that something's fishy hit when a bunch of uniforms with laser rifles poured into the bar. A brief firefight ensued, in which the old guy was shot dead, and I was the only one who got out unscathed. We exited through the bar's back exit with the corpse in tow, and then had to drag the werecat away from the alcohol storeroom.... We had just left that room when the session ended, so I'm sure there'll be more later.
Anyway, if you found that at all interesting, please do tell me about it. I'm always thrilled to swap stories with fellow gamers, and/or suck dice virgins into the fold.
