OK... a hearthrug is a mat (usually thick shag pile) which you place infront of the fire to catch any sparks etc. It is also slang for a wig or hairpiece! Sorry NM... only j/k!
I do agree that this is a really nice corner of h2g2 though... quiet and cosy I think that I'll join you and Monsy in a little snooze
