Ben McKenzie
A little biographical information
Hullo to you all. My name is Hugamari, but for some reason everyone calls me Ben McKenzie. Dunno why - it's only my legal name. I was born on the 29th of January, 1983, making me a 17 year old Aquarius. Not that I'm into that astrology rubbish or anything.
I live in Napier, a city on the east coast of New Zealand. This site seems to be overrun with New Zealanders (well from the articles I've been reading so far). Here's another one to add to the collection.
I am a nerd. I'm into computer programming and gaming, reading, watching TV, and listening to music. I hate sports. Yep, a Kiwi who hates sports. A little oxymoronic, isn't it?
I program computers. I am fluent in QBasic, and can program fairly well in Visual Basic. I still find C/C++ a little tricky, but I'm learning. I also use various Game Creation Systems, such as Megazeux and TADS.
I play computer games. Over the years I've bought various computer games (most of which you can now buy at a fraction of the price, dagnabbit), and I can't remember all of them. My favourite genre is Adventure, but I'm quite useless at adventure games. I seem to be quite skilled at platforms, but I hate them. Oh well, whatcha gonna do...
I read books. At the moment, my favourite author is Carl Sagan. Of his books, I've read (and I recommend) Contact and Billions and Billions. Other books I like are 1984 by George Orwell, and of course, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
I watch TV. My favourite programme is, by far, The Simpsons. I also like Family Guy, Freaks and Geeks, Shortland Street, and 3 News.
I listen to music. Ben Folds Five is my favourite band. I also like Owsley, Shihad, and Tonic. I absolutely hate singers who try to be sex symbols. I dislike a lot of music that other people like. I like rock (classic and modern) and power pop. A little classical music doesn't go astray, either.
Politically, I'm an extreme leftist. If I were old enough to vote (which I will be in the next election), I'd vote for Alliance, or even The Communist Party of Aotearoa.
I am strongly agnostic (not atheist). I am an evolutionist. I have nothing against theists or creationists, but don't bother trying to convert me or anything. Actually, do try to convert me. I've always wanted to be involved in a good religion debate.
That's enough from me. Any questions? No? OK then, you can stare at this fish for the next few minutes:

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
