I have a huge and hairy dog and the dog has a small kitten (seriously) as she went into a serious decline when my old and amazing cat had eventually to have the utterly awful last visit by the vet. Within days offers of kittens came hurtling towards us from all points of the compass without my asking anyone! Dog chose her kitten. Dog returned to life; dog happy. My part in proceedings does appear to be largely one of the 'shovel it in at one end, shovel it up at the other!' What a life!
