Graffiti Addiction
Hi, all fellow researchers!!! Finally a FREE forum to find out those bugging questions that I am sure we have all lost money over during a drunken bet...ohh and for metaphysical enlightenment too. I am a art "student" currently enthralled by the emerging graffiti movement..no no graffiti REVOLUTION!VIVA REVOLUTION! In art school I was and still am into new ideas but after swallowing the CRAP that goes for modern art for too many years I began too look outside the popular art world and well I didn't have to look to far(on the walls close to my local art museum were murals that surpassed ANYTHING close to what was inside and selling for unearthly amounts). Before I begin to rant about graff I must admit that yes, it does have its negatives and there are some bad apples ruining the bunch (but that's a whole other discussion). The way I view it is "Art for the People, by the People!" 65% of the U.S. population will NEVER step foot in a museum on their own accord. I can sort of understand this with the sorry state the museums are in but what bothers me is that so many people are not influenced and inspired by the art of others the way I am. Well I ask just two simple questions fellow researchers.
1) PLEASE have an open mind to what I have to say about graffiti, PLEASE wipe all preconceived notions about it before you read any further!!!
2) Head on over to www.graffiti.org\daim for in my opinion the king of the graffiti world! (prepare to spend ALOT of time...:)
