i like maths, which is why i'm doing fruther maths, but i think a degree is a bit OTT for me...

I think a maths degree is probably way OTT even for most people doing one!

Um... There's all the matrax stuff - using them to solve simultaneous equations, work out dimensions of subspaces, etc...
Group theory
Differential Equations
Integration/Differentiation in more than one variable
Partial Differentiation
Plus a whole lot of other stuff, depending on what options you chose. I've done a fair bit of programming, and a bit on fractals and the like.
