*shrug* maybe

none of these packages are very flexible, you can do certain things to get certain effects and you get parts of programs you'll never even use, but surealy at this point in time if they do the task you need then why should it worry you?

AS long as I can update Photoshop periodically and find new ways of doing design on the computer then the only other program I need for college is Word, which I find very reliable at this point in time.

probably, but currently I need at least some stability and if microsoft is bizarrely it then I don't intend to go and rid myself it as well...

plus new systems and software is bloody expensive, I couldn't afford to swap to anything new if I wanted too.

Oh yes sorry, students find free disconcerting for some reason.

depends how free something is I guess.

Free can be disconcerting for some people because there always seems like there'll be a catch.

Yes like your soul, Mwhahaha...

People don't get the fact that others will give up there time so everybody can enjoy computers and not just the few who have enough money to pay the extortionate prices of a single corperation that owns the whole market.

maybe they need to stop making computer programs so over priced thensmiley - winkeye

I must admit though, I would love to be able to get a piece of software designed to the specifications I need for soem of the art stuff I do, like graphics packages for clothes design or for interiors or whatever, there's probably something out there, but it would be great to get a software bureaux or whatever you call it (that's what we were told to call it in computing) to make a piece specific to the things I want to do. However I'd have to be incredibly well off to manage that, lucky I like pen and papersmiley - winkeye
