oh you're writing a book? need anyone to look it over?
(hint hint)

What's your word target every day? when I write it's 2,000 but currently I'm not writing anything.

As it happens, I was visiting an old school-friend of mine yesterday, she lives in JHQ so we went for coffee at the NAAFI. And the cup said "NAAFI Break"

Blimey, thought I, haven't had a NAAFI break in years!

Hello Dear!

I do not have a specific target as such. One day it can be 2-3K, another around 500.

One thing I am not sure of, is how many words make a good book.

Any ideas??

And yes, when I am coming towards the end, I will send you a copy of what I have done (is there any limit to E-Mail attatchments? (Currently 1172Kb)

I have no problem receiving email attachments - word docs and so on are tiny.

As for size. 50k words would be a novella. It depends what you're going for (what kind of novel is it?) Generally you want to be looking at around 100k words...

Without giving too much away,it is a disaster of all disasters novel, with many people involved, and a lot of people killed, including some of the aforementioned charactars.....

So, 100K words eh?

That puts me about a quarter of the way there!

Ta for that!

no probs - it is allowed to be longer, btw. Several of the most recent jobbies are way longer than that!

'Wheel of Time' Sho..

Very complex.

There is a 'thing' called 'The One Power'. Only women are allowed to use it. If men try, they are hunted down by the 'Sisters of the White Tower', and shielded so they cannot reach 'The Scorce'.

They do this because the last time men ewere allowed to use it, they went mad and destroyed the world as it was known then.

However, there are two sides to 'The Power'. One is good, one is bad.

There is a being called 'The Dark One' who is imprisoned in a space outside the World, but the locks on his prison are disintegrating, and his 'Servants' are on the loose.

The problem is, to defeat him again, one certain man must be found to assist in the fight against him. Not only that, he will need other men who can weild the 'One Power' safely.

Problem is, within the women of the 'White Tower' who are Sisters who have been turned to the Dark, and they are trying to find the one man who can help save the world again.

See?

Complex.

Series currently stands at 11 volumes, each one some 800 pages long.

Another problem is that Robert Jordan died in 2007, leaving reams of notes that lead to the end of the epic tale. The editors reckon that to reach the end, two more books are needed, which will take the tale to 13 volumes.

I have 11 of them, and trying to work through them...

All good stuff!!!
