What kind is it, sounds great! I love the bigger breeds, but understand if it's too big for you . If you were nearer, I'd call round & offer to walk the dog, but I'm the other (cough - best) side of the Pennines. Sorry, just had to get that in.
Hope you learn to love the dog, & give it what it needs - I totally believe you & the Missus will. Anyway, the jist of this is - Enjoy!

Hi anne...
I presume you are talking about Drew...
He has gone back to kennels, I am afraid.
He was Staffie x US Pit Bull, and got very miffed if he wanted to play and we did not.
He bit and drew blood from both of us.
He was a 'bad un'
Replacement Tyson is much easier to handle, and we will be keeping him, I think...

Tyson, eh? Hard name, hopefully soft-as-they-come dog, just watch for your ears
with this dog, hope it works out better this time. Aren't re-homing places supposed to carry out an assessment of how well the dog will fit into your lives? After all, it's in everyone's interest & safety to make sure that the 'fit' is a good one...

Hi anne
Yeah, Tyson is soft as butter...
We have had a scare with him as he has been ill today.
Had to take him to vet....Vet reckons stress through changing homes...
We are deducting vet fees from costs from kennels to us..
Just hoping now that jabs and pills work....

Aww...so glad he is fitting in; obviously will never replace Lady, but when you are used to having a in your life and they pass on it leaves a huge hole in your soul.
P (my partner) lost his beloved Edda around Christmas, he is still grieving.
We now have another pup, Woolie Bear, named 'cos that's what she looked like at 10 weeks, she's a golden Retriever, Edda was a dark collie cross, seemed best to get a doggie completely different.
She is very naughty but so full of the joy of life "Oooh, what's that? Can i Eat it, chase it, play with it? Are we going out in the van? Up the hill? Yippee, there's my good friend Hootoo the donkey!"
Funnily enough, our neighbour has a dog called Tyson too!

Hi zen!!
Thanx for the Post!!
Tyson is complete opposite to Lady...He wants to play all the time, and would chase cats into Yorkshire if we let him off the lead!!
To be expected if he is only five or so, I supose!!

Yes, in doggie terms, they are like naughty human toddlers at that age aren't they!
We are lucky, live on a farm, so Woolie can romp around outside off the lead and burn off excess energy. As for cats, hmm, she and Fritz get on OK, unless she actually tries to put his entire head in her mouth whilst playing but he's young as well.
Her Royal Highness Queen Yoda however is a mature lady and Siamese and feels this bouncy yellow creature is really quite uncivilised and should be put firmly in her place.
Woolie likes to go and play with donkey, goat sometimes butts her, but we are a bit concerned 'cos are due to lamb next week and we don't want Woolie chasing around them....P has reinforced fencing today, but you know what pups are like for squeezing through gaps!
So she may have rather more restricted playtime for a week or two.
Give Tyson a and scratch his tummy from me!
