Welcome to H2G2 I am sure you will find H2G2 a fun community to be in. If you have questions, an ACE might be able to help. We are all volunteers who go around welcoming newcomers answering questions if we can. Your welcome is much appreciated - thank you. I'm only able to spend a little time each day in h2g2, so I will work my way round the items you have suggested, and get to know the place. I've no doubt I'll be in touch (asking for help) soon.

Thanks again

Joanna,

I'm glad you liked the verse, but you must think me very rude for mot replying to your note!

I'm not, though. Dumb, yes, but not rude.

Your message didn't show a separate time flag on my home page because it came on the same day as another reply, and until now (when I wanted to ask an ACE a question) I hadn't clicked the button to look at all replies. What a dumbo!

By way of apology I offer the above explanation as another alphabet (blank) verse:

A bit clumsy? Dumb?
Experience failed!
Goodnes , how I, Joanna, kept losing messages!
No other person quite repeats such timing,
Unless very well Xcused.
YourZ,

Kes

Don't consider yourself stupid...anybody could have made that mistake. (And H2G2 is working on fixing that problem).

Anyway...you said that you didn't notice there was another reply until you clicked to ask an ACE a question. Maybe I missed something, but, did you mentione what the question was? I'd be pleased to try to answer if I could.

Thanks, Gavroche,

It was actually your reply to my earlier note in this thread - I checked it to see if it answered something I'd thought about - and it did - so no outstanding questions. I have had a go at a couple of short articles (after reading the ACEs' advice), and submitted them. Their reception will give me some good feedback. Do you know what the current backlog is on vetting submissions?

I've had an article - Survival Guide to Secondary School - waiting about 8 weeks now, but now the new Peer Review system's put everything up a certain creek without a certain instrument whil everyone figures it out. My one on Mick Foley waited seven weeks - twice. And I had a coupla others rejected after 9 weeks........

BTW, judging by your name, may I assume you are a fan of Star Trek - more specifically Voyager?

Yes - there's nothing like moving the maze walls round to keep the rats on their toes, is there? smiley - bigeyes
Thanks for the times - I'll assume that things may now take a bit longer (as with all updates). In the meantime I'll try a submission using the new rules.

No, this "Kes" predates S.T. Voyager by donkeys' years - I'd forgotten that incarnation, but it explains why folks assume I'm female. No, and it wasn't the Ken Loach film either.

Keep paddling - even if using hands! smiley - bigeyes
